[Kaohsiung News] The Transportation Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government and the Transportation Bureau Labor Union held a signing of collective agreement ceremony on the 22nd, declaring the cooperation and commitment between labor and management. In the future, they will continue to work together to create a win-win situation for both labor and management.

On the 22nd, a signing ceremony of the collective agreement was held between the Transportation Bureau and the Transportation Bureau Labor Union. On behalf of the two parties, Director-General of the Transportation Bureau, Ms. Shu-Chuan Chang, and Chairman of the Transportation Bureau Labor Union, Ms. Mei-Feng Huang, signed the third collective agreement, hoping to improve the work efficiency and stabilize the relationship between labor and the management.

The Transportation Bureau and the Transportation Bureau Labor Union signed the first collective agreement in 2016, and since then the agreement has been reviewed every three years and negotiated in good faith. This time, the Labor Union actively seeks to increase the subsidy and grant official leave to members and cadres when organizing the labor educational seminars and it has been included in the current collective agreement after fully communicating with the Transportation Bureau.

Chairman of the Union, Ms. Mei-Feng Huang, said that there are currently 209 union members, who are mostly roadside parking fee collectors; Director-General of the Transportation Bureau, Shu-Chuan Chang, stated that, in order to appreciate the hard work performed by employees working outdoors, the Transportation Bureau would purchase jackets, undershirts, shoes, hats, headlamps, backpacks, cooler bags, raincoats, and rain boots according to the needs of employees, and would also arrange for free annual health check-ups in order to protect the physical and mental health of employees.

Ms. Shu-Chuan Chang said that she would like to thank the service staffs for their efforts and hard work. The Transportation Bureau is committed to improving the working environment and labor conditions for the service staff. The Bureau also will discuss the proposal with the labor union to seek the benefits for the members, and will be willing to assist and provide suitable solutions to the proposal as long as they are in compliance with the laws and regulations.

According to the Transportation Bureau, the task of renewing the collective agreement today is accomplished only on the condition that there is a harmonious relationship between the employees and the management. It is hoped that in the future the two parties will work together to abide by the terms and conditions of the agreement, protect the rights and interests of employees, and take into account the sustainable development of the traffic parking business, in order to create a win-win situation for both the employees and the management.
